Gallatin Longhunters Announce Chase Terry as Head Coach
Gallatin, TN – The Gallatin Longhunters are excited to announce Chase Terry as the organization’s new Head Coach. A native of Gallatin, Tennessee, Terry brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience, a strong commitment to player development, and deep ties to the local community.
Terry graduated from Gallatin High School in 2019 under Coach Mark Wilson before continuing his baseball career at Roane State Community College, where he earned an Associate’s degree in Secondary Education in 2022. He then played at Johnson University under Coach Dave Serrano. Terry’s coaching experience includes time at South Doyle High School, and he now returns to Gallatin to lead the Longhunters while continuing to serve as a 7th grade social studies teacher at Joe Shafer Middle School.
“Representing the Gallatin Longhunters is an opportunity to give back to the people and community that helped shape me,” Terry said. “Having received tremendous support and love from Gallatin, Tennessee, throughout my life, it is a blessing to now have the chance to pour that same love back into the community. I’m excited to work with collegiate players and help them represent the Longhunters with pride, professionalism, and purpose.”
Terry outlined his vision for the team, emphasizing growth, character, and community impact in addition to on-field performance. “Success goes beyond wins and losses,” he said. “True success is seen in the growth of our players, the way they carry themselves, and the standard they set for our community. If our players leave Gallatin better than when they arrived, and if our fans feel connected to the team, that will be a successful season.”
Beyond competition, Terry is committed to providing Gallatin with a high-quality baseball experience. “I’m excited to bring an entertaining brand of baseball to our city and create an environment where young athletes can learn, grow, and be inspired,” he said.
Under Terry’s leadership, the Gallatin Longhunters aim to build a culture rooted in pride, toughness, discipline, and strong community connection. “I want this team to represent playing the game the right way,” Terry said. “That means competing with passion and energy while carrying ourselves with character on and off the field. More than anything, I want this team to be something the city of Gallatin, Tennessee, can truly rally around and be proud to call its own.”
